About Sonburst

Creator and Founder, Lisa Ferguson, is passionate about raising the next generation to love God and others through a relationship with Jesus. As a young mom, Lisa recognized the need for high quality, user-friendly resources to disciple children. Drawing on her experience as a professional educator of both teachers and children, she founded Sonburst as an innovative approach to discipling children with joy through intentional and everyday moments.

Sonburst partners with churches, Christian schools, and parent groups through equipping, coaching, and consulting to help children experience the awe and wonder of God through Bible stories. We also create and publish innovative, faith-based resources that equip churches and parents to disciple children with confidence and joy. Contact us for more information.

What’s unique about Sonburst?

Sonburst resources and support services (equipping, coaching, and consulting) reflect a distinctive approach to discipling children. This approach is grounded in Scripture, shaped by Jesus’ teaching methods, informed by research-based practices, and inspired by innovative schools in Italy:

Respect for children

A core conviction that children are capable, full of potential for the Kingdom, and that God can speak to them and through them

Bible stories

Adapted from Scripture and designed to be read and revisited over multiple weeks

Authentic conversations

Asking thought-provoking questions that lead to personal understanding and application of the Bible stories

Meaningful experiences

Captivating each child's unique heart, soul, mind, and strength through everyday conversations, interactions, routines, and activities that include play, art, and nature

Collaborative learning

Children and parents learn together and from one another as they discover, explore, and apply biblical truths

Anticipation of awe and wonder
